Symptoms
Sulphur deficiency symptoms are first visible on younger leaves. The midrib becomes yellow, and this chlorosis spreads throughout the whole leaf. The leaf may turn completely whitish. Necrosis does not occur, even at severe deficiency.

Nitrogen deficiency also leads to leaf chlorosis, but this starts on older leaves and is followed by necrosis.
Iron deficient plants show lanceolate leaf shape and chlorosis on younger leaves, but in contrast to S deficiency, the leaf veins remain green.
