Symptoms
Severely affected plants show interveinal yellowing on pinnae starting from the distal end of the leaf. Subsequently leaf tips and margins become light brown to grey, the tissue gets dry and necrotic.
The rachis turns yellow, too, and may show dark brown to black blotches.
Reasons
Copper deficiency
Copper deficiency can be observed on peat soils where Cu is complexed by organic compounds. Cu deficiency is also known as ‘peat yellows’.
